Sony Music Artist - Snoop Dog

Snoop dog is one of the many fantastic musicians signed by Sony, and no doubt one of the most iconic, because of his originality he is one of the best musicians from the Sony roster to analyse. He emerged early in the nineties and grew quickly by having the talent of rapping, and coming up from the area of Compton he had not much to talk about other than his gangster lifestyle making songs like ' fuck the police' which became a massive hit. Down the line of his successful career he also sprouted into things like Tv, football coaching, you name it... He starred in the movie - straight outta compton- which was actually a movie about him and his rap crew's rise to fame.

if i was to base my musician on snoop dogg i would chose an anthem which i can relate to as most of his songs was about his lifestyle and i feel like many young men or teenagers can somewhat relate to his music even in the slightest. His look would not to be too hard to replicate either as in his prime he still stuck to the basic and old style baggy clothes especially blue clothes as that is what he wore most due to the gang he represents- the crips- snoop dogg is known for embracing the gang culture and the colour blue was the colour of the notorious gang - the crips.

Additonally, the style of his music videos also could be replicated by using aerial drone shots, hand held recording and quick paced/fast moving video to stimulate and portray the action packed life he lived and most often spoke about in his rap songs. It is also possible to use similar type of mis en scene like, i mentioned the clothes, the locations such as deprived areas or urban areas to recreate the same of type mood or 'vibe' that was given when watching snoop doggs videos.
